The Formation
In 2002, David Goy left Malaysia and emigrated to Australia, and carried with him the dream of a "benevolent automotive empire", an enterprise based on the model of a future, philanthropic automaker.
In the May of 2006, Goy Motor Company was formed. As a young engineer, he invested his life savings into the newly birthed entity. What David lacked financially he made up with passion, and vigorously shared his vision to as many as are willing to hear it... both off and online.
The First Taskforce
By 2007, the GOY project has been established with members from both Australia and overseas. A three-year taskforce was created in which the team members would experiment with a number of designs as well as complete an initial feasibility study with Lotus Engineering.
The project attracted some of the auto industry's best designers, a number of whom have been involved in the styling of some iconic post-2000 vehicle models for marques in Europe and America.
Locally, David also successfully raised the first round of funds required to bring the GOY team into consultation with Lotus Engineering in order to understand the auto-manufacturing scene better.
(It was at the Lotus consultation that many of the GOY members met each other face-to-face for the first time)
The task force completed its mission, culminating in the design of the GOY GT in late 2009.
A new taskforce is to be formed to develop the prototype once funding has been obtained. Read more here...
